MACS-R

With the Wenzel-MACS-R and Wenzel-MACS-GeFo Wenzel has paved the way to GSM-R technology for many railway companies. The system is characterized by highest security and availability and allows seamless migration from analog to digital train radio.

Wenzel-MACS-R is a modular communication system for applications in operation centers of railway and metro companies. Sub-centers allow the simple and flexible connection of individual dispatcher terminals with the operation center, even at remote locations.

The network is designed redundantly and is thus highly available. The system redundancy includes fault-tolerant network topologies. In case of a network failure, the redundancy of the central control components and local operational communication is ensured. An Operation and Maintenance Center (OMC) provides a wide range of functions for the entire system management.

Gateways ensure the integration of dispatcher terminals into modern IP networks. They convert IP to ATM/TDM technology used in the MACS-R.
