These systems can be used in various fields of application, e.g. emergency situations, amok and threat alarms, house alarm, de-escalation call, call for help or for general announcements.

The NGRS application guideline VDE 0827-1 serves as a guideline for risk assessment of the respective building and usage situation as well as for the definition of the protection goals in three degrees of protection with the associated product requirements.
